Tuesday 6:30 - 9:15 PM Nanotechnology Lecture (Our class)

Outlook calendar link to remind yourself to go to class

Prior to each class, go to Canvas/Modules, find the relevant week #, and download the files listed there and perhaps a few from the week prior and the week subsequent, too.

Go to https://fit.instructure.com/courses/265730/files

Find the following folders, and right click on the three dots, then download some massive files with what used to be a DVD for the course onto your computer:  Nanotechnology Lecture Videos, Nanotech Lab Lecture Videos, Nanotech Synthesis Videos, Nanotech Lab - Characterization Labs, Materials Characterization Lab Lecture Videos, and Materials Characterization Videos.  I would start with the Nanotech Synthesis Videos folder.  It will take several minutes each to download these as massive .zip files.  If that doesn't work because it is too massive for you (Some are multiple gigabytes.), then try the following links instead.

Nanotechnology Lecture videos from prior years:  https://fit.instructure.com/courses/265730/files/folder/Nanotechnology%20Lecture%20Videos

Nanotech Lab "characterization lab" videos:  https://fit.instructure.com/courses/265730/files/folder/Nanotech%20Lab%20-%20Characterization%20Labs

Nanotech Lab "lecture" videos:  https://fit.instructure.com/courses/265730/files/folder/Nanotech%20Lab%20Lecture%20Videos

Homeworks:  in readdiscusstopicsall2007g.doc;

.pdf files contain news items for the homework and are summarized in HWreadingpdf.zip

.ppt and .pptx files are the most important parts of the .pdf files and may get covered in class

PowerPointslidestoreadfornanotech.pdf include the most important slide #'s in the PowerPoint files

.zip files contain the original documents from which the .pdf, .ppt, and .pptx files are summaries

Kern Entrepreneurial Engineering Network content is in burgundy

See the WelcometoNanotechnology2023.docx file and what is inside.

Now that this class is in online mode in addition to in person mode, use the hyperlinked files below in order to prepare for class!  I will send out updated versions of this periodically as I record lecture content into PowerPoint files.  The linked .pdf's are the same as the newly added PowerPoint files in bold red, EXCEPT that they also have my recorded audio.

If attending via Zoom, come to class a few minutes early to  get any logistics situated.  If it is your class time and you're having trouble getting in, call me at 321-749-3437 and/or e-mail me at jbrenner@fit.edu.

Olin Engg. 256/228/229 MTWR 1-2 PM, M 2-4 Office Hours (I may only be there in person, as opposed to Zoom, depending on whether someone actually came to see me in person.

My plan is to use the "flipped classroom" model.  You should view and listen to the relevant pre-recorded PowerPoint material as listed in the .pptx files before each date on the syllabus.  There will be a simultaneous live in person lecture and a Zoom lecture.  I will post the recorded live lecture after class as soon as reasonable.
